Anthony Mann directs this Western starring James Stewart as a vengeful cow herder who arrives in New Mexico determined to find the man responsible for the death of his brother, who was shot down by Apaches armed with automatic rifles. At the same time, Will Lockhart (Stewart) from Laramie is looking for the man selling the rifles and finds himself taking on cattle baron Alec Waggoman (Donald Crisp) and his son Dave (Alex Nicol) in his search for answers.
